Movie Nights [Premiere]
Movie nights at the old cine theater bring Jorge and Maria together. A piece of chocolate cake is the start of it all. A short film commissioned by Aveiro 2024, presented in this session in preview with the presence of the authors and actors. This film is joined by two historical short films chosen based on the theme of Culture and Identity, in partnership with Cinemateca Portuguesa.

In an immense area of a salty lagoon, there lives, on one of its numerous desert islands, a family whose head is the owner of a salt boat. His only grandson, Armando, studies music in France.

Trigueira people
A document from the people who in the 60s lived on the boats of the Ria de Aveiro, the moliceiros, the saleiros, the merchants and the bateiras. Boats where life happened to its fullest. A film by Vasco Branco (1919-2014), a prominent filmmaker, writer, ceramist and painter, from Aveiro.
